The Reluctant Crystal Energy Worker: Here’s my story
I don’t know when I first became aware of Crystals and their energy properties, but they are now a part of my Professional Toolkit.

Crystals have been a part of my life for well over 30 years. I have always had crystals around my home, and many pieces of jewelry with crystals in them. While I wasn’t specifically tuning in to their energetic capacities, I have always been awe inspired by their beauty.
Although I have been working in Somatics and Energy Work since 1989, I didn’t start working with Crystals directly as part of my Energy Work until around September 2005. I was visiting my colleague, teacher and dear friend Vivien Schapera. We were exchanging sessions. She was on her teaching table in her office in Cincinnati, and I was giving her a combination Alexander Technique/CranioSacral session, when two very large Quartz Crystals on a shelf along with many of her other Crystal Healing tools told me “Put us under the teaching table.” I decided I was making this up, crystals don’t talk! Now they began shouting, quite emphatically: “Put us under the table!” So I did.
As I continued the session, I slipped into a slightly altered state, which is common for me when I am doing my work. I have had many visions in this state. This time I saw what looked like pale blue and pale pink dashes of energy raining down onto Vivien on the table. It looked much the way rain might be animated in a cartoon. As I continue working on her, the pale blue and pink lines began to organize themselves into what looked like strands of DNA.
After the session, I mentioned this to Vivien, who was not the least bit surprised. She told me she had made a deal with the Crystals. She would organize and present The Mid-Western Crystal Healing Conference and in exchange, the Crystals would transform her DNA.
I made a mental note of this affirmation of my perceptions, and returned to my regular forms of Energy Work, Alexander Technique and CranioSacral Therapy. But the Crystals (and Vivien) have slowly and surely made their way into my work. I am currently training in Crystal Energy Work at the Master’s Level with Vivien. I now offer Crystal Energy Work along with my other services.
